Provide first level day-to-day technical support (often by phone). With guidance works on the installation and troubleshooting of standard desktop and printer hardware in a specific location for specific customers.
Essential Duties and Job Functions Responds to routine questions from Gilead staff to increase their IT knowledge and IT self-sufficiency. With guidance, works on the installation of standard Microsoft Office software. May assist in Regional and Global projects for installation of routine software and hardware (as required by site). Initiates activity with line manager to develop good relationships with local users. Escalates incidents / service requests as appropriate. Communicates routine technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel. Day to day priorities are set by manager.
Knowledge, Experience And Skills
Relevant experience in a technical role with a BA/BS Degree or equivalent. Possesses working knowledge of standard desktop hardware and software and able to address most issues by following established procedures.
Builds expertise in standard desktop hardware and software and the ability to resolve customer issues quickly.
Builds a strong understanding of company-specific applications and technologies.
Must be able to take directions and carry out tasks accurately with excellent customer service skills.
Must know the basics of Microsoft desktop applications. The individual is a dynamic person, expected to develop good relationships with their user group.
Excellent Organizational Skills Are Required.
Good verbal and written English knowledge.
